Kolkata/IBNS: With winter knocking at the door and Kolkata getting ready for grand parties, the Calcutta Cricket & Football Club (CC&FC), one of the oldest in the city, recently arranged for a whisky tasting session in collaboration with Paul John Whisky, a premier Indian brand.

Organised at the vintage club’s Lounge Bar, the event took off with an introduction to the history of  Paul John, ‘the Great Indian Single Malt’ developed in Goa by John Distilleries.

Headed by Paul P John, the company owns a portfolio of brands in various categories, including whiskies, brandy and wines.

According to the company website, it is the fourth largest liquor company in the country by volume with a production spread across 12 locations and 8 states in India.

Paul John Indian Single Malts are made from carefully chosen indigenous ingredients – barley, water and yeast and Goa’s tropical clime offers the ideal temperature and ambience for the whisky to mature to perfection.

Paul John Indian Single Malt is non-chilled filtered and there are no additives.

After the introduction, the tasting session was opened to select members and their guests in the club that was set up in 1792.
