Shaktisinh Gohil booked for caste remark

India Blooms News Service | | 11 May 2014, 02:33 pm
Ahmedabad, May 11 (IBNS): A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil under Representation of Peoples Act for calling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi a "fake OBC", reports said.
The FIR was registered at Sola police station on Saturday, following a complaint lodged against the Congress leader by a Shailesh Ramanlal Modi (a Modh Ghanchi himself), a resident of Gulab Tower in Thaltej.

Modi has also handed over to the police a CD containing a video footage of Gohil’s press conference, reports said.

The complaint stated: "Shaktisinh Gohil has made remarks against entire Modh-Ghanchi community for his vested political interest and to target some political person(s)."

Modi has also accused the Congress leader of doing this to gain political mileage, to get caste votes and to win trust of OBCs.
