BJD remains equidistant from BJP, Cong: Patnaik
Bhubaneshwar, Apr 6 (IBNS): With the Lok Sabha polls starting from Monday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said that his party Biju Janta Dal (BJD) will remain equidistant from the both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress.
"Our party remains equidistant from the BJP and the Congress," Patnaik told NDTV channel.
According to NDTV's latest opinion poll, the Biju Janta Dal (BJD) is set to sweep Odisha, possibly winning 18 of the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
With speculations suggesting that BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will approach BJD to become a coalition partner in the state, Patnaik said he has no personal terms with BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Odisha will vote for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in two phases on Apr 10 and on Apr 17.
