Not true Muslim if don't vote for Mulayam: Azmi

India Blooms News Service | | 02 May 2014, 03:44 pm
Mumbai, May 2 (IBNS) Maharashtra Samajwadi Party (SP) president Abu Azmi on Friday stirred up another controversy by saying that the Muslims who did not vote for party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav are not true to their religion.

"Muslims who don't vote for Mulayam are not true Muslims. One should check their DNA and see if they are RSS activists in disguise or not," Azmi said.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy slammed Azmi and said: "No Muslim can possibly vote for Mulayam. In fact, now they will take revenge from Abu Azmi by voting for Narendra Modi."

Congress leader Naveen Jindal tweeted, "Mr Abu Azmi's remarks on Muslim's not voting for SP are worth condemnation and are an insult to democracy."
