New Delhi/IBNS: Industrialist Ratan Tata has dispelled the concern over his health condition triggered by his hospitalisation in Mumbai.

Tata was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Monday morning.

Amid concerns over his health, Tata shared a statement on social media where he said he was undergoing check-ups.

He said, "I am aware of recent rumors (rumours) circulating regarding my health and want to assure everyone that these claims are unfounded. I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age and related medical conditions.

"There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits and request that the public and media refrain from spreading misinformation."

An industrialist, philanthropist and a national icon, Tata was the chairman of the Tata Group from 1990 to 2012. He was the interim chairman from October 2016 to February 2017.

He is the great-grandson of Jamsetji Tata, who had founded the Tata Group, a once-a-small company which has now become one of the major corporations in the world.

With products and services catering to 150 countries, Tata Group is the largest conglomerate in India.
