Completely unacceptable to see violence targeting worshippers at the Hindu Sabha Mandir, posts Canadian opposition leader on X

Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre has strongly condemned the recent attacks on a Hindu temple in Brampton and called it 'completely unacceptable'.

"Completely unacceptable to see violence targeting worshippers at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today," Pierre Poilievre posted on X.

He further said: "All Canadians should be free to practice their faith in peace. Conservatives condemn this violence unequivocally. I will unite our people and end the chaos."

Toronto MP Kevin Vuong said: "Alarming to see an attack on Hindu Canadians. From Khalistani extremists to terrorist cosplayers, has become a safe harbour for radicals."

"Our leaders are failing to safeguard Hindus as they have Christians & Jewish Canadians from violence. We all deserve to worship in peace," he said.

Amid the ongoing diplomatic meltdown between India and Canada, a large number of devotees were attacked outside a Hindu temple in Brampton city near Toronto by suspected Khalistani members recently.

Several videos which are currently circulating on social media showed some people attacking devotees with sticks outside the Hindu temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday condemned the "deliberate attack" on a Hindu temple in Canada's Brampton city.

PM Modi also slammed the attempt to "intimidate" Indian diplomats in Canada, calling the situation 'appalling' and urging the Canadian government to ensure justice.

In a strongly worded post, PM Modi said: "I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law."
