Russian Deputy PM Denis Manturov calls on PM Modi, discusses strategic partnership

New Delhi/IBNS: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday as a part of his visit to India.

Both leaders exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in various areas, including trade and economic ties, energy, connectivity among others.

PM Modi welcomed the sustained and joint efforts being made by the teams on both sides for the implementation of the decisions taken during his recent visits and meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin to strengthen the strategic partnership.

PM Modi extended his warm greetings to President Putin and said that he looked forward to continued exchanges with him, the PMO office.

They also discussed steps to implement the agreements reached during the talks between PM Modi and Putin, which took place on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan on October 22-24.

"Particular attention was paid to issues of further strengthening of trade, economic, investment, energy and industrial cooperation," an official statement from the Russian embassy said..
