IAF SU-30MKI crashes in Assam, pilots eject safely

New Delhi, May 19 (IBNS) An Indian Air Force (IAF) Su-30MKI fighter aircraft on a routine sortie crashed around 1230 hrs on Tuesday, about 36 km south of Tezpur in Assam, but the pilots ejected safely.

An IAF release said the aircraft took off at 1217 hrs from Tezpur air base.

Both the pilots safely ejected, it said.

A Court of Inquiry (CoI) has been ordered to investigate into the cause of the accident.
