Over 200 AAP workers protest in Delhi against Modi govt's 1 year in power

New Delhi, May 27 (IBNS): Over 200 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers have gathered in Delhi's Janatar Mantar on Wednesday to protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government at the Centre.
The protest comes a day after the Narendra Modi government completed one year in power.

They AAP workers are also protesting against the Centre's Land Acquisition Amendment Bill.

Meanwhile, the AAP government of Delhi has planned to pass resolution against Centre's notification curbing Delhi's power and send it to the President in what could set the stage for greater confrontation with the Centre.

Reports said the private member’s resolution will be moved by MLA Somnath Bharti with a few amendments.

The Union Home Ministry recently issued a notification that also clipped the wings of the city-state’s anti-corruption department.

Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday had moved a resolution in the assembly against the central notification.

“Democratic spirit of the Constitution was sidelined while issuing this notification. It undermines the Constitution,” Sisodia had said on the first day of two day emergency assembly session.

The AAP has also appealed to the President to invoke article 143 to define the powers and responsibilities of an elected government.
