New Delhi, June 30 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed sadness over the news of plane crash in Indonesia.

"News of the plane crash in Indonesia is deeply unfortunate. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased and prayers with those injured", the Prime Minister said.

More than 100 people have lost their lives as an Indonesian military transport plane crashed in the country's Medan city, media reports said.

A huge ball of fire was created as the Hercules C-130 plane  crashed into two houses and a car in the city, reports said.

"Air Force head Agus Supriatna visited the crash site and told reporters he believed there were no survivors among the 113 people on board," BBC reported.

So far, 66 bodies have been recovered from the site.

Rescue operation is currently going on.

The exact cause of the mishap is not known.
