Ex- Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam dies
He was 83 when death came.
According to reports, he died due to cardiac arrest.
He was admitted to Bethany hospital after he collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong.
An eminent Indian scientist, Kalam had served as the 11th President of India.
Kalam was elected as the President of India in 2002 with the support of both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Indian National Congress.
After serving a term of 5 years, he returned to civilian life of education, writing and public service.
Kalam has received several prestigious awards, including the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor.
