Jammu, Aug 7 (IBNS) In a fresh ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops opened heavy fire and mortar shelling at the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Friday morning, reports said.

The firing reportedly began at 3:30 am at the Sauziyan sector of Poonch.

India troops retaliated the attack resulting in heavy exchange of firing which is still going on.

Pakistan has violated the ceasefire at least 12 times this month.

In July, there were 18 ceasefire violations along in the Indo-Pak border in which four people, including three jawans, died and 14 others were injured.
