Kolkata: Primary TET exam postponed after question paper missing
Kolkata, Aug 28 (IBNS): The West Bengal government on Friday has postponed the Primary Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) exam to Oct 4, which was scheduled for Sunday (Aug 30), after the disappearance of two packets of questions.
On Thursday, one bus, containing TET's question papers, was going to Hooghly district of West Bengal from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE)'s office in Kolkata's Salt Lake area.
On the way, near Nibedita Bridge in WB's Howrah district, guards noticed that one packet of question papers was missing. Then the bus went back to WBBSE's office.
After counting, it was clear that two packets of question papers were missing. The back glass of the bus was also found broken.
WB education minister on Friday called for a meeting and then announced that the exam had been postponed to Oct 4.
He also said that Indian Post was responsible for the incident.
However, Indian Post denied the allegation.
Oppositions also criticized the government on this issue.
Almost 24 lakh candidates will compete in primary TET exam, for nearly 30000 posts.
