Sheena Bora murder: Indrani Mukerjea's police custody extended till Sept 5
According to reports, Indrani Mukerjea fainted briefly inside the court.
Meanwhile, Indrani Mukerjea, arrested for the murder of her young daughter Sheena Bora, has been roughed up by police, her lawyers reportedly claim.
The team of lawyers, headed by Mahesh Jethmalani have also complained that it is being given little access to the clinet.
Media reports said on Monday that Jethmalani, in a phone call to Mumbai police chief Rakesh Maria, has said his client is visibly bruised.
He has also complained that on Saturday night, her meeting with her lawyers was conducted inexplicably in the presence of five policemen.
It is not yet known whether the lawyers will take up the issue in court where Indrani will be brought along with the others arrested in the case - former husband Sanjeev Khanna, and driver Shyam Rai.
Indrani Mukherjee, a media executive and wife of TV honcho Peter Mukherjee, was arrested a week ago in connection with the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, who she used to introduce to others as her sister.
Sheena, Indrani's daughter from a previous relationship, was allegedly strangled inside a car in April 2012. The body was set on fire and dumped in a forest area of Raigad in Maharashtra.
The second of her three husbands- Sanjeev Khanna- has allegedly confessed to his role in the killing, stating that Indrani led him to believe that the daughter they share, 17-year-old Vidhie, was likely to be killed by Sheena and her brother, Mikhael.
Sheena was having an affair with Rahul Mukherjee, Peter Mukherjee's son from a previous marriage, when she was killed.
Police tumbled on the case recently following an anonymous phone call and on the basis of information they received arrested Indrani's former driver Shyam Rai.
The exact motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained as interrogation of those arrested besides several of their relations and acquaintances are going on.
