Ask Ntish and Lalu what they have done for Bihar in 25 years : PM Modi tells Bhagalpur rally
Speaking at an election rally in Bhagalpur, the PM also criticised the duo for making "fun" of the special package that he had announced last month and said the people, who are aspiring for the state's development will "turn away" from these leaders.
"I am happy for one thing, that when I announced Rs 1.25 lakh crore package for Bihar in Arrah, the total package is of 1.65 lakh crore. They made fun of us for a few days, but people were not amused. But they realized that if they criticize the package, people will turn away from them," he said.
"I am happy that development has become an issue during the elections, This will be good for the country if both UPA and NDA talk about development in elections, I am happy that people who ruled for 25 years have now had to come with a package," Modi said.
Responding to the criticism of his political adversaries who had alleged that he was trying to fool the people of Bihar in the name of Bihar package, the PM said he will give the account in due time, before the next Lok Sabha polls, but before that who have been ruling the state for many years must give their own.
"They should ask for answers from me in Lok Sabha. It is my duty that I should give you an account of my work in Lok Sabha elections. In 2009 I will give an account of every paisa I spent in five years. Will they (Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad) give an account of what they did in 25 years?," he asked.
"They are not giving any account of the past 25 years and why there are no roads, no development, no roads. Yet, they are asking Modi for answers."
"I appeal to the people of Bihar to question those in power. You were told that they will provide electricity, if that has not been given then they will not ask for votes," Modi said.
The PM said people of Bihar are asking why should they go to Kolkata or Delhi for studies and why do they have to leave the state for employment, and they don't have answers.
"But Bhagalpur has broken all the previous records. This has broken the record of not just NDA but all rallies held in the state of Bihar for the past many years," he said.
