Hurriyat leaders meet Pak envoy: Geelani thanks Pak Premier Nawaz Sharif
In the letter, Syed Ali Shah Geelani thanked the Pak premier for adopting a hardline approach and going back to the stated stand of involvement of separatists in the dialogue on Kashmir.
Pakistan's stand led to cancellation of the National Security Advisor-level talks, which was scheduled to be held last month.
Geelani's top aides -- Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah and Altaf Ahmad -- met Basit at his office in New Delhi.
This was the first time Hurriyat members met the Pakistani envoy after the NSA-level talks in New Delhi were called off by Pakistan.
The NSA-level talks between India and Pakistan had been called off after Pakistan insisted on meeting separatist leaders while India maintained that their meeting could not be allowed.
