Rahul's absence : BJP-Congress war of words

New Delhi, Sept 25 (IBNS) The absence of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi from the capital for what his party says attending a conference in the US has set the BJP tongue waging proclaiming that the opposition leader is again "missing," reports said.

According to Congress, however, Gandhi has gone to the United States of America to attend the Charlie Rose Conference in Aspen. Coincidentally, his visit is taking place at the same time as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's week long visit to the country.

But trashing the Congress claim, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said that ‘Weekend With Charlie Rose’ was held between June 25 and July 4  and claimed that the  Congress is lying about Rahul Gandhi’s whereabouts.

Reacting strongly, the Congress claims that the BJP is citing schedule of an old ‘Weekend With Charlie Rose’ conference adding that the event is a private conference of 100 leaders and it is currently underway.

They also claim that the party cannot release details as it is a private conference. They have also maintained that Rahul’s office will release photographs, copies of the invitation once the event is over.
