New Delhi, Oct 9 (IBNS): Delhi CM Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali will perform in the national capital in December.

"Ghulam Ali Sahib. Hum apke bahut bade fan hain. Abhi apse baat karke bahut acha laga. Thanks for agreeing to do a program in Delhi in Dec.(Ghulam Ali Sahib.I am your fan. I loved speaking with you right now. Thank you for agreeing to do a progrm in Delhi in Dec.)," Kejriwal tweeted.

A day after celebrated Pakistani ghazal Singer Ghulam Ali's concert was cancelled in Mumbai, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday offered to host  it in Kolkata.

"Music has no boundaries. Music is the rhythm of the heart. Ghulam Ali concert can be held in Kolkata", Banerjee tweeted.

Ghulam Ali's programme was cancelled following Shiv Sena's opposition.

Banerjee also said that her government will make all arrangements for the programme if it is held in Kolkata.

However, the Shiv Sena defended its move to cancel the concert.

Aditya Thackeray, a Shiv Sena leader and son of Uddhav Thackeray said, "We are not against his music or art. But can we enjoy when our soldiers are facing atrocities."

Shiv Sena, holding Pakistan responsible for the death of Indian army troops, had earlier commented that the State cannot have any cultural ties with Pakistan as their troops kill Indian soldiers.
