MOS, Steel and Mines urges JPC, and INSDAG to take meaningful steps to help India achieve second position in steel production in world
Kolkata, Oct 9 (IBNS): Union Minister of State for Steel and Mines Vishnu Deo Sai has urged Joint Plant Committee (JPC) and Institute for Steel Development and Growth (INSDAG) to take meaningful steps for helping India achieve the second position in the world so far as the production of steel is concerned.
While speaking in the meeting of JPC and INSDAG in the city on Friday, he even said that India will be producing 300 million tones of steel by 2025 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is touring abroad to invite investment in this country to help India achieve this target by 2025, as research and development in this sector requires huge investment.
Sai in this situation urged for hard work in the days to come so as to make Indian steel industry shine in the world.
The Minister even released publications of JPC and INSDAG today, namely Annual Statistics 2014-15, Indian Scrap Market, Guidebook on Welding and Fabrication of Steel in Steel Works and the like.
Among the dignitaries present were R Das, Executive Secretary, JPC, Sushim Banerjee, Director General, INSDAG and other JPC and INSDAG officials.
