Anupam Kher take a swipe at intellectuals

New Delhi, Nov 7 (IBNS) Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, who is heading the 'March For India' to counter the dissent voices over alleged incidence of intolerance, has expressed anguish at the participation of 'buddhijibis' (intellectuals) in the ongoing debate.

"How does it matter to the 'buddhijibis'," Kher told TV reporters.  "They get their job done by the end of the day. Things such as intolerance seldom affects them. It's the poor who suffers," he said.

Kher had earlier said, "India is a very very tolerant country and nobody has the right to call us intolerant."

Stressing on India's secular stand, he said, "We are secular people and do not believe in pseudo-secularism, I do not believe that we need to learn secularism from any other country."

"Every country has its problem, but to term it as intolerant is not the right thing," Kher said.

Taking a dig at those who have returned the award, he said, "People have a habit of hiding their flaws by blaming others."

"We are all Indians and should work together," Kher said.

The march will be attended by several celebrities according to Kher.
