Bihar result is the mandate to fight for Delhi : Lalu Prasad Yadav

Patna, Nov 9 (IBNS) A day after the historic victory of the grand alliance, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday gave call for a greater fight, saying the people's verdict in Bihar mandates "fight for Delhi against Narnedra Modi" to take on "communal and fascist forces."

Lalu Prasad said he will visit Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency and other states to build up anti-BJP base across the country.

"The mandate that we got is that this is the fight for Delhi against Narendra Modi and to rein in communal and fascist forces," he said while addressing a press conference.

"It is the win of the Grand Alliance, and not any particular party...The slogan was development but Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to take Bihar on the path of destruction," Lalu Prasad said.

"All the arrows he threw at us, we defeated all of them and then our arrows defeated the BJP," he said.

The grand alliance comprising the JDU, RJD and the Congress dealt a stunning blow to the BJP-led NDA in Bihar Assembly elections by capturing 178 of the 243 seats. The NDA, went whole hog to capture power in Bihar, was left biting dust with only 58 seats.

The result proved to be a shot in the arm not only for the grand alliance, but also for other anti-BJP parties, so long put at the receiving end in national politics.

Lalu Prasad assured that the new Government in Bihar will run smoothly under Nitish Kumar. "I will stay in Varanasi and other states," he added.

"We have enough resources, we will fight with the Centre for the funds for the development of Bihar," he said.

"Prices of mustard oil has become so high. No one is feeling safe under PM Modi's rule...Steel industry has been destroyed."

"Government spoke so much about 'Make in India', 'Achhe Din', but people never thought it could be so bad...People were misled, youth was misled by false promises," he said.
