Kirti Azad wants PM Modi's answer on his suspension

Ahmedabad, Dec 24 (IBNS) BJP MP Kirti Azad, suspended by party for his offensive against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on the DDCA corruption issue, on Thursday said that he wanted answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"I want the PM to tell me what my fault is. I want specific answers," Azad told reporters.

"I have much to tell, but I don't want to embarrass anyone. What is the point of attacking from the back?"

The cricketer-turned-politician  was suspended on Wednesday after he targeted Arun Jaitley over alleged corruption in Delhi's cricket body DDCA that the finance minister headed in the past. Azad alleged on Thursday that evidence was "vanishing" from the offices of the DDCA.

The DDCA row became intense after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal  alleged that a CBI raid last week on his top officer was an attempt to search for files on DDCA and "save Mr Jaitley".

Azad said: "If there can be a raid on the Chief Minister's office, why can't there be raid on DDCA? The day before yesterday two boxes of documents were taken out of DDCA. Evidence is disappearing."

He said that he would respond to the party's notice on Thursday  and another BJP leader Subramanian Swamy would help him frame the reply.

"The notice says that I have been suspended for anti-party activities. There is nothing specific in the charges against me. Was action taken against me because I raised corruption charges?"  Azad said.

Replying a question on Azad's party's allegation that  he had sided with rivals like  Kejriwal and the Congress, Azad said : "If they think I met other parties, then BJP should inform me which parties I met. I have been raising these issues for nine years, would I have dreamed that a party called AAP would also take up this issue?"
"PM Modi and the Margdarshak Mandal should intervene," he said, , referring to a "mentors' panel" of party.
