Former Army Chief General K.V. Krishna Rao passes away

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IBNS) Former Army Chief General K.V. Krishna Rao passed away in New Delhi on Saturday.

He was 92 when death came.

He had served as the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura.

He breathed his last at Army Hospital (Research and Referral), Delhi Cantonment.

President Pranab Mukherjee mourned his death as his official Twitter handle read: "Heartfelt condolences on the passing away of General K.V. Krishna Rao, former Chief of Army Staff #PresidentMukherjee."

"General Rao’s exemplary services to the nation and the Indian Army shall always be remembered #PresidentMukherjee," read another tweet.
