Bodies of 9 Siachen avalanche soldiers brought to Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 15 (IBNS): Bodies of nine Indian solders, who were killed in the avalanche in Siachen on Feb 3, were brought to Delhi on Monday.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Dalbir Singh paid homage to the soldiers at Palam Airport here.

"#COAS paid homage to the 9 #SiachenBraveHearts at Palam Airport #Delhi & interacted with Pallbearers of the unit," the Indian Army tweeted.

"Wreath Laying on mortal remains of 9 #Siachen bravehearts conducted at Leh, The same is being moved to #Delhi through service aircraft," read an earlier tweet.

Last week,  Indian soldier Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, who was miraculously rescued alive from Siachen after remaining buried for six days under snow, died.
