Kolkata, Mar 5 (IBNS): Two Non Resident Indian (NRI) women have been detained at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI-CCU) in Kolkata on Saturday for allegedly carrying cartridges in their luggage, officials said.

According to reports, during security checks, these cartridges were spotted inside their bag through a luggage scanner.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel immediately detained the duo- Anamika Dey and her mother Piyali Dey- who were scheduled to board an Emirates flight to Dubai. At least five cartridges have been seized from their possession.

"We have detained two NRI women who have been identified as  Piyali Dey and Anamika Dey. They were scheduled to fly to Dubai. We have seized five cartridges from their possession. They are being questioned," one senior official of CISF told IBNS.

If the women are found guilty, they will be immediately handed over to the Bidhannagar City Police, the CISF source further revealed.
