Assam polls: AGP announces candidates' list for 25 constituencies

Guwahati, Mar 10 (IBNS): Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), BJP's Assam Assembly Polls ally, on Thursday announced its candidates list for 25 constituencies including the names of two-times former Chief Minister, ex-ministers and the party president.

AGP president Atul Bora announced the party's candidates list for 25 constituencies.

The upcoming assembly election will be held on April 4 and April 11 in two phases.

The regional part has listed its candidates for the constituencies including former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta (Barhampur), ex-ministers Brindaban Goswami (Tezpur), Dr Kamala Kalita (Chhaygaon), Renupama Rajkhowa (Teok), Pradeep Hazarika (Amguri), Phanibhusan Choudhury (Bongaigaon), Pabindra Deka (Patacharkuchi), Ramendra Narayan Kalita (Guwahati West) and the party president Atul Bora (Bokakhat).

The other candidates of the regional party are- Binod Goala (Sarupathar), Bhabendra Nath Bharali (Dergaon), Utpal Dutta (Lakhimpur), Naren Sonowal (Naharkatia), Bhupen Rai (Abhayapuri North), Robin Banikya (Abhayapuri South), Gunindra Nath Das (Barpeta), Jyoti Prasad Das (Boko), Satyabrata Kalita (Kamalpur), Prabin Hazarika (Biswanath), Mukundaram Choudhury (Kalaigaon), Habibur Rahman (Dalgaon), Ranjit Deka (Laharighat), Keshab Mahanta (Kaliabor), Jiauddin Ahmed (Jamunamukh).

“Hope we will form the next government with BJP,” AGP president Atul Bora said.
