Kerala temple fire: PM heads to spot with burn specialists
In a statement, the PMO said, "A team of doctors including burn specialists will accompany PM @narendramodi to Kerala."
PM Modi has asked the state government to 'suspend protocol' for his visit. In such a situation, the CM of the particular state will not have to receive the Prime Minister.
"PM has directed that no protocol formalities be observed on his arrival in Kerala & focus remains on relief & rescue operations in Kollam," PMO said.
PM Modi has also announced financial help for both the deceased and injured.
While the kin of the deceased will receive INR 2 Lakhs, a sum of INR 50,000 will be handed over to the injured.
"PM announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs. 2 lakhs each from PMNRF for next of kin of those who lost their lives in the fire in Kollam. Rs. 50,000 will be provided to those injured in the fire at a temple in Kollam," the PMO statement read.
