Kerala temple fire: Rahul Gandhi to visit Kollam

New Delhi, Apr 10 (IBNS) Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will visit Kerala's Kollam district on Sunday to interact with the affected in the temple fire, which engulfed at least 90 lives, leaving another 350 injured, according to reports.

Confirming his visit, Gandhi said on Twitter, "Will be in Kollam this afternoon to meet the families affected by the tragic fire at Puttingal temple."

"Spoke to CM @Oommen_Chandy ji to ensure that adequate relief, medical care and assistance is being provided to the injured at the earliest," he tweeted.

Around 15,000 people were present in the temple, when fire broke out at 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Though the primary reason of the breakage has not yet been confirmed, reports of a celebrations at wee hours being the culprit is doing the rounds.
