Marathwada drought: 12-year old succumbs to heatwave

Beed, Maharashtra, Apr 20 (IBNS) A 12-year old girl succumbed to the intense heatwave in drought hit Beed district of Maharashtra on Sunday, reports said.

Identified as Yogita Desai, the girl was suffering from dysentery, but had to make several trips to the nearest water pump as her family needed help.

On one such trip, she collapsed, unable to weather the extreme temperature.

Doctors who attended to her, stated cardiac arrest and dehydration as the cause of her untimely death.
