New Delhi, May 6 (IBNS) A day when the national capital witnessed rally and debates in the Parliament, participated by members of the BJP and the Congress ,over numerous issues, the ruling on Friday targeted the Congress over the AgustaWestland scam and said why an earnest debate on corruption is treated as 'anti-national'.

"Congress needs to answer, why is it that whenever an earnest probe against corruption is done it is treated as anti-national," Union Minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said while addressing a press conference.

"Don't be afraid of anyone. But why are you afraid of fair investigation? Facts should be allowed to come out " he asked Sonia Gandhi on the AgustaWestland scam.

He said the investigation will conducted in the AgustaWestland scam in a 'fair manner'.

"Regardless of what Congress says, this government is going to prosecute the whole issue in a fair manner," Prasad said.

Highlighting several issues such as the AgustaWestland scam and the President's rule in two states, political opponents the BJP and the Congress hold rallies in the national capital on Friday.

Prasad hit out at the Congress over the rally and called it a ''Sonia-Rahul parivar bachao abhiyaan' (Rally to save Sonia-Rahul family)."

The Supreme Court on Friday  issued a notice to the Centre  on a petition seeking registration of an FIR against all the people named in an Italian court judgement in the controversial AgustaWestland chopper deal, reports said.

A bench comprising Justices Dipak Misra and Shiva Kirti Singh issued notice on the PIL that sought a court-monitored probe in the case.

The PIL was filed  last week by advocate ML Sharma.

It sought lodging of FIR against political leaders, including Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, whose names have allegedly been mentioned in the Ialian court's judgement.

CBI had in 2013 registered a case in connection with alleged bribes paid by the firm to Indians get the deal for supplying 12 helicopters for VVIPs.
