Chandigarh/New Delhi, May 16 (IBNS) Chandigarh Police stopped Aam Admi Party (AAP) supporters at the Chandigarh-Mohali border from marching towards Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s residence in Chandigarh, media reported.

AAP supporters were protesting against the alleged multi-crore food grain scam in the Punjab.

Earlier, to prevent any untoward incident, section 144 was imposed in Chandigarh, and pilice contingents posted around the chief minister's house, according to local reports.

The AAP workers gathered at the Dusshera Grounds in Mohali before the march.

According to media reports, police later allowed a small delegation to meet the CM at his house.

Besides taking precaution against the AAP march, the Punjab government on Monday also inserted advertisements in newspapers saying that the account of every procured grain is maintained by Punjab procurement agencies and Food Corporation of India, according to reports.

In its ad, the government also said, “Beware of those out to defame Punjab."

On Sunday, Punjab CM said that he would cancel his engagements and remain available at his residence to have a meaningful dialogue with leaders regarding issues concerning the people of his state.
