Mumbai, June 8 (IBNS): Actor Rishi Kapoor, who found himself facing the ire of the Congress party for tweeting against the Gandhi dynasty dominance in Indian projects and schemes' nomenclature, hailed as a wise and timely the decision of Maharashtra government to rename their health scheme earlier after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Kapoor had earlier advocated for a change in name of things named after the Gandhis. He had argued that while there were many eligible personalities, who have had equal contribution towards the society, it was only the Gandhis who walked away with almost everything.

"Wise timely decisions! Maharashtra State sets the ball rolling. Congratulations!" Kapoor tweeted.

The Maharashtra government drew flak from the Congress, after they said that the health scheme would be named after Jyotiba Phule, a social reformer.

The previous name Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana, will now read, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jeevandayeeni Yojana and will come with some unique features.
