New Delhi, June 16 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Iceland on the eve of their National Day.

In a message to Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, the President of the Republic of Iceland, the President said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and the people of the Republic of Iceland on the occasion of your National Day."

"The warm and friendly relations between India and Iceland have been strengthened by the exchange of visits and fruitful dialogue between our two countries, most recently the visit of the Foreign Minister of Iceland to India in early-April. I am confident that we will continue to work together in the coming years to the benefit of the peoples of both countries," Mukherjee said.

"I take this opportunity to convey to Your Excellency my best wishes for your good health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Iceland," he said.
