PM Modi urges new colleagues to work positively
New Delhi, July 5 (IBNS) Barely hours after the new ministers were sworn-in, in a major cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, the first for the 2-year-old NDA-led government, they have their job cut out as PM Modi urged them to work positively for transforming India.
"Congrats to newly sworn-in colleagues. Lets work together to bring a positive difference & for #TransformingIndia," the PM tweeted greeting his new colleagues.
As many as 19 new faces were inducted on Tuesday.
The reshuffle came four days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the work done by his ministers over two years.
The new cabinet boasts of a journalist/editor in MJ Akbar, an advocate in PP Chaudhary, a former bureaucrat in Arjun Ram Meghwal, a surgeon in Subhash Bhamre and a writer and a conversationalist in Anil Madhav Dave. They all belong to the BJP.
The new list also consists of people from SC and ST background and have been chosen from states which will go to polls in the immediate future.
While Jaswantsinh Bhabhor and Faggan Singh Kulaste belong to Scheduled Tribe, Ajay Tamta, Ramdas Athalwale, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Ramesh Jigajinagi and Krishna Raj represent the Scheduled Caste community.
The cabinet also boasts of two newly elected female members, Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal (BJP's ally in UP) and Krishna Raj.

Ajay Tamta, Anil Madhav Dave, Anupriya Patel, CR Chaudhary, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Subhash Bhamre, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Jasvantsinh Bhabhor, Krishna Raj, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Mansukh L Mandaviya, MJ Akbar, PP Chaudhary, Purshottam Rupala, Rajen Gohain, SS Ahluwalia, Ramesh Jigajinagi, Ramdas Athawale and Vijay Goel.
Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar was the first to be sworn in. He has been promoted to cabinet rank.
