PM Narendra Modi mourns death of CRPF jawans in Maoist attack

Ten soldiers of the elite COBRA commando team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died in a suspected Maoist attack in a forested area off the Aurangabad-Gaya border in Bihar, according to media reports on Tuesday. Several injured jawans have been shifted to hospitals.
The incident took place on Monday.
The commandos, who were on a combing operation in the area, faced heavy firing and were trapped after the rebels triggered around 21 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), media reported.
Bodies of three alleged Maoists have been recovered.
Rocket launchers and rifles have been found in the area.
Union Home Rajnath Singh spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday and expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers.
