National Conference to boycott all-party meet

Srinagar, July 21 (IBNS): Major Opposition party of Jammu and Kashmir assembly National Conference said that it will not attend “meaningless exercise” that has been called by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti tomorrow amid the ongoing crisis in Kashmir. The NC said that the meeting called by the CM “is too little too late.”

"It is extremely unfortunate that although the CM saw it fit to call a meeting of civil society in Srinagar within days of protests breaking out, it has taken almost two weeks to call a meeting of all political parties,” said party spokesman.

It would have been better if the Chief Minister had responded to our party leadership’s offer of support earlier instead of waiting for the suffering and misery of the people to reach this level.NC has decided to boycott All Party meeting called by the Chief Minister to discuss security situation today at SKICC.

“PDP is itself not in the command. Education minister is saying one thing on media gag, and CM’s political adviser is saying something else,” spokesman added.

The chief minister had called an all parties meeting on July 21 to be held at SKICC for helping and restoring normalcy in the Valley.

JKPCC, Independent legislators M Y Tarigami, PDF chairman Hakeem Yaseen and former minister and DNP chairman Ghulam Hassan Mir have given a go ahead to the meeting.
