BSF-BGB conference held in WB

Kolkata, Jne 28 (IBNS): The Border Security Force (BSF) has conducted an Inspectors General Level BSF Region Commanders-BGB ( Border Guard Bangladesh ) level conference held at Siliguri and Kolkata.

BGB delegation  consisting of  17  Officers  headed  by  Brig General Md Latiful  Haider, Additional Director General , Border Guard Bangladesh  entered  India through  International  Check Post  Changarabandha ( ICP )  North Bengal on June 25.

On reaching  at Frontier HQ North Bengal Kadamtala  Siliguri,  BD  delegation  held a meeting  with BSF delegation  which was led by Rajni Kant Mishra, IPS, IG, SB, Frontier  Kolkata .


During the meeting, various  bilateral   issues like trans border crimes, cattle smuggling, fence  breaching , smuggling of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN), illegal migration and gold etc. were   discussed  in  very cordial  atmosphere, the BSF informed.

Both the border guarding  forces mutually agreed  upon to resolve the border issues  amicably  at Frontier / Region  level.

During visit at Kolkata from June 27-28,  head of  BGB delegation  also discussed  various issues  with B D Sharma, IPS, Special DG (Easter Command) Kolkata.

B D Sharma, appreciated the endeavour of the both the Frontier Commanders BSF  and  Region Commanders of  BGB to resolve the  border related issues .

Md Latiful Haider, Addl DG (Region Commander), Border Guard Bangladesh also praised the role of India during the Liberation War 1971.

After completion of IsG BSF–Regional Commanders level Border Co-ordination  conference, BGB  delegation returned  to Bangladesh  on Saturday through ICP  Petrapole/ Beanpole  .

The aim  of this conference was to make a better co-ordination in between two border Guarding forces for the peace and  tranquillity on border
