Environment minister inaugurates public facilities in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Aug 18 (IBNS): Union Minister of State (I/C) of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Anil Madhav Dave, inaugurated a night shelter for Narmada Parikrama pilgrims and several public facilities in the Jahanpur Gram Panchayat in Sihor district of Madhya Pradesh, under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, on Wednesday.
The village houses about 100 families. 
 
Among the facilities inaugurated were a water filter plant with capacity to provide 20-25 litres water per day per family, a Panchayat building, an auditorium, a toilet to prevent open defecation and a night shelter that can be availed by pilgrims on Narmada Parikrama (circumambulation of the Narmada River).
 
The minister dedicated a night shelter, particularly for the benefit of people performing a circum-ambulation (Parikarama) of River Narmada. 
 
A toilet has also been constructed to prevent people from defecating in the open. 
 
The minister also distributed school uniforms to children of the village,met women members of NGOs and had a review meeting with various government officials as part of the review of the work in progress.
