Srinagar, Aug 25 (IBNS) : Stating that the Government is ready to talk to the Kashmir separatists, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that an alternative to pellet guns would be announced soon, reports said.

"We are willing to talk to anyone in the ambit of Kashmiriyat, Jamooriyat and Insaniyat," Singh, who is on a visit to Kashmir valley to take stock of the situation, said at a press conference.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was also with Singh.

Kashmir has been in a turmoil for the last 48 days ever since the encounter killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8.

Altogether 69 people have been killed and 10,000 injured in clashed during the period.

Different political parties and civil society organisations have strongly objected to security forces using pellet guns in Kashmir. Though non-lethal, pellet guns, fired on protestors, have left many people blind and maimed.

Singh said  an all-party delegation would visit Kashmir soon.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who was also at the press conference, said 95 per cent of the people want an end to the crisis.
