Sri Sri Ravi Shankar meets Burhan Wani's father on humanitarian grounds
According to Ravi Shankar, the meeting took place on humanitarian ground at his ashram in Bengaluru.
His foundation, the Art of Living also posted a photo of Ravi Shankar meeting Burhan's father.
"Muzaffar Wani, the father of Burhan Wani was in the ashram for the last 2 days. We discussed several issues," Ravi Shankar tweeted.
"Mr Muzaffar Wani was in the ashram for two days. Certainly, Sri Sri and Mr Wani discussed about the current situation, about the suffering and how peace and normalcy can be restored in the Valley. It was purely on a personal and humanitarian angle," a statement from the Art of Living, available with the media, read.
Speaking about the meeting , Burhan's father told media: "I had gone there for treatment and stayed in the ashram to seek care for some 'ailment'."
"He (Sri Sri) did not ask me anything else. He just talked to me for five minutes or so at the most," Wani told Kashmir Reader over the phone from his home in Kashmir's Tral after returning from Bengaluru.
The Kashmir Valley has been witnessing massive unrest since the death of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani last month.
The death toll in the Valley touched 70 on Saturday.
Over 11,000 people, including 7,000 civilians and 4,000 security personnel, have been injured in the ongoing unrest.
