AAP only party to take action against corrupt leaders : Kejriwal after sacking Sandeep Kumar

New Delhi, Sept 1 (IBNS): Seeking to pick up a point over the ouster of Sandeep Kumar, a Minister in the Delhi Government, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said Aam Aadmi Party is the only political outfit that takes quick action even against its leaders, if they are proved corrupt or immoral.

"There is a difference between our party and other parties-that is we take fastest possible action against anyone, if proved guilty. Unlike other parties we do not try to put a veil on the offence or protect the offender even if that means the party getting folded up," Kejriwal said in a video message.

Kejriwal had summarily sacked Sandeep Kumar, the minister for women and child development  on Wednesday after he received a sex tape involving the minister.

He said no other party has the guts to take such action against its own leaders, while the AAP has been harsh with four of its leaders to take stringent action against them..

"You see, no action has been taken against Shivraj Singh Chauhan (Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister ) for the Vyapam scam, which involves many people's death."

The Sandeep Kumar  scandal surfaced barely a week after AAP's Punjab chief Suchcha Singh Chhotepur was sacked following a sting operation that showed him taking bribes in lieu of granting party tickets for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The two incidents, which took place in quick succession, threatened to sully the image of the AAP, the ruling party in Delhi that came to power giving slogans against corruption.

Kejriwal said though the party always checks the antecedents of party candotheridates before giving them tickets, sometimes some people may turn out to be otherwise and  such incidents are bound to give rise to a question among the people about the party's credibility.

"People will surely think what is the difference between AAP and other parties ? The difference is in the action," he said.
