New Delhi, Sept 6 (IBNS): India on Tuesday clarified that no decision has been taken by the government over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Pakistan to attend the SAARC summit later this year.

MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted, "As I stated in my weekly briefing, decisions and announcements of such nature are not made so far in advance."

The remark was made after  India’s High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale  earlier said Modi is looking forward to visit the neighbouring nation for the summit.

He made the remark at an event in Karachi on Monday.

“I can’t say about the future but as of today, Prime Minister [Narendra] Modi is looking forward to visiting Islamabad for the Saarc summit in November this year," he was quoted as saying by Dawn News.
