Two youths killed in Kashmir fresh violence, unrest continues
According to reports, people were seen protesting after police attacked a rally in Tukroo Village of Shopian District on Saturday.
During clashes, a 25-year-old youth Sayar Ahmad Sheikh died after suffering a head injury during clashes and died on spot.
Scores of people were injured in clashes in which several youths were shifted to hospital for advance treatment.
In another clashes, 23-year-old Yawar Mushtaq was killed in forces action in Batengoo village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, taking the overall death toll in the current uprising to 78.
“The youth had suffered pellet injuries in his chest and abdomen. He was declared dead on arrival,” said local doctor.
Meanwhile, Kashmir remained shut for 64 consecutive day since July 8 when security forces killed top Hizb commander Burahn Wani along with two associates in Bamdoora Kokernag area of South Kashmir.
All educational institutions, main markets and public transport continue to remain shut.
