Uri operation called off : Indian Army
DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh told media: "The operation has been called off this evening."
"The complete area has been cleared," he said.
Giving a strong message to the attackers, he said: "We do reserve the right to respond to any act of the adversary and at the time and place of our own choosing."
Meanwhile, the number of soldiers killed in Sunday's deadly terror attack on Uri Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir rose to 18 after a jawan succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
An official reports said sepoy K Vikas Janardhan succumbed to his injuries at R & R hospital in New Delhi.
Eighteen more injured jawans are now in hospital, six of them in serious condition.
On Sunday early morning, four terrorists sneaked into the Uri Army camp and lobbed grenades before making brush fire as most of the soldiers were in sleep.
All the attackers were also killed in counter Army attack.
In Srinagar, J & K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti paid tributes to the martyred soldiers.
An official said the CM later visited the injured soldiers admitted in the 92 base hospital of the Army.
