Foreign Secretary Jaishankar cuts short foreign visit, attends Home Minister's meeting

New Delhi, Sept 20 (IBNS) : Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar cut short a visit to Vienna as Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh held a high level official meeting on Tuesday to chalk out diplomatic and strategic plans following the Uri terror attack, NDTV reports said.

The meeting was attended, among others, by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and senior intelligence officers.

Jaishankar rushed back from Vienna cancelling his scheduled trip to  New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

Meanwhile, reports said, the Border Security Force and the Research and Analytical Wing have submitted their reports on security aspects to the Home Minister.

According to NDTV, the National Investigation Agencyreceived blood and other samples from the four terrorists who attacked the army base at Uri on Sunday and killed 18 soldiers before being shot dead in a  three-hour gun battle.

The Army will hand over to the NIA, weapons, ammunition, maps and GPS sets, which were found from the possession of the terrorists to help piece together their identity and trace the route they took to infiltrate into India.
