Guwahati, Sept 21 (IBNS): Bollywood actor John Abraham, who is also the owner of North East United Football Club, on Tuesday evening called on Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the latter’s office chamber in Assam Secretariat and discussed with him the preparedness of Guwahati as the venue for the opening ceremony of the third edition of the Indian Sports League (ISL).

It may be mentioned that the opening ceremony of the third season of IPL will be held before the capacity crowd at Sarusajai Stadium in  Guwahati on Oct 1.

The duo besides talking about a flurry of steps that were pressed in to service for the opening ceremony also talked on North East's contribution to the development of Indian football and its potential in shaping the future of the game in the country.

Chief Minister Sonowal also informed John Abraham that the administration would extend all possible support and assistance for Guwahati to play the host of the football carnival and assured North East United FC all help.
