Jharkhand: Man providing vital information to Maoists about CM arrested

Patna, Sept 23 (The Bihar Post/IBNS): Police have arrested a man who was constantly passing on vital information to the Maoists about the movements of Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das.

Das heads the BJP-led government in mineral-rich Jharkhand state.

Keeping in view the security threats, the Z-plus security cover of Das has further been tightened, police said.

The arrested man identified as Birendra Das was working as caretaker of Circuit House, Chaibasa.

“The arrested man had been constantly providing information to Maoist rebels about the chief minister and movement of the police for the past about two months. During initial interrogation, he has confessed to his crime,” a Jharkhand police spokesperson MS Bhatia was quoted as saying in a local daily today.

Reports quoting police sources said it was the Maoists who had provided the SIM card to the caretaker to allow him in touch with them.
