Youth killed in Kashmir
According to official sources, a youth namely Waseem Ahmad Lone, 22, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, was killed when army opened fire on a group of boys who pelted few stones on army vehicles at Nadihal near a canal.
The youth was immediately rushed to near by District Hospital in the area where doctors declared him brought dead.
With the death of Waseem, at least 78 civilians have been killed by forces since July 08 when current anti-India uprising was triggered by the death of popular militant commander Burhan Wani.
In Srinagar here, the authorities imposed curfew in Old City areas including Nowhatta, MR Gunj, Khanyar, Rainawari, Safa Kadal and Habba Kadal to prevent outbreak of protests. Besides, the forces were also deployed in civil lines areas including Basant Bagh, Maisuma, Batamaloo and Lal Chowk.
The curfew was strictly imposed in downtown localities and the Friday congregational prayers were once again disallowed at Jamia Masjid Nowhatta.
Meanwhile, Kashmir remain shut for 77 consecutive day since July 8 when Security forces killed Top Hizb Commander Burahn wani along with two associates in Bamdoora Kokernag area of South Kashmir.
All educational institutions, main markets and public transport continue to remain shut.
