New Delhi, Sept 30 (IBNS): Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said his party is supporting Prime Minister Narnedra Modi's move to carry out the surgical strikes crossing the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

"When a Prime Minister performs is duty which suits a Prime Minister then we support him," Office of RG tweeted.

"I want to congratulate him for performing the first action which suits a Prime Minister. I support him," read another tweet.

"The Congress party and the entire nation stands beside him on the issue," read another tweet.

Amid mass anger in India over the Uri attack in Kashmir, India on Wednesday past midnight carried out surgical strikes crossing the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, targeting terrorist launchpads working from within the neighbouring country, the army said.

The strikes were launched by the Indian Army at the KG sector of Poonch district. Two Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed. Pakistan denied that there were surgical attacks calling India's claims as "fabrication of truth" but Pak PM Nawak Sharif warned India against any aggression.
