Pakistan still in anaesthesia after India's surgical strike: Manohar Parrikar

India Blooms News Service | | 02 Oct 2016, 12:45 pm
Dehradun, Oct 2 (IBNS): Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has finally delivered his first remark over India's surgical strike by the Indian army across the Line of Control in Pakistan late on Wednesday and said the neighbouring country is still in "anaesthesia."

In an attack to Pakistan, Parrikar said: "If you want to give pain to this country, then the army of this country along with the entire nation will not lag behind to cause the same pain to you."

He said Pakistan is behaving like a patient in anaesthesia who does not understand the effects of surgery.

"Pakistan is still in anaesthesia. Even after two days of the surgical strike, Pakistan has failed to understand what has happened," said he.

While addressing a gathering at Peethsain in Uttarakhand's Pauri district on Saturday, Parrikar said Indian troops were like Hanuman who were unaware of their capability before the surgical strikes.

Amid mass anger in India over the Uri attack in Kashmir, India on Wednesday past midnight carried out surgical strikes crossing the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, targeting terrorist launchpads working from within the neighbouring country, the army said.

The strikes were launched by the Indian Army at the KG sector of Poonch district. Two Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed. Pakistan denied that there were surgicalattacks calling India's claims as "fabrication of truth" but Pak PM Nawak Sharif warned India against any aggression.
